Tilganga Eye Centre

Contributions from art sales were forwarded to local NGOs including “Nepal Mountain People” who actively partner with the Titania Eye Centre.

Funds raised are helping finance a program offering free eye examinations, prescription eyewear, etc. to future monks (“Mini monks”) so that these vivacious good souls can fully pursue their studies.

This philanthropic endeavour is all about good people doing good for good people who will do good things in the future. In doing so, we are partaking in a virtuous cycle of positivity!

Women's Health & Hygiene Initiative in Nepal

Creation of a hard cover photo book entitled Stolen Moments. Sales proceeds were used to finance a much needed and highly appreciated female health program in Nepal.

Volunteers from Beni HandiCrafts organized and met with two groups of young women in remote village areas to distribute 60 FREEDOM KIT BAGS (saree silk bags containing hygiene and birth control products). A full briefing and presentation accompanied the delivery of FREEDOM KIT BAGS.

Most of the women served were displaced by the devastating earthquake that rocked Nepal.

Art for Positive Social Change Realized Projects

Douglas Foundation - CPC 2 Unit

A number of activities - including a charity casino night, an online art auction and sales proceeds from specific shows - helped raised 10K dollars destined to enhance the patient experience at the CPC2 unit at the Douglas Hospital

More specifically, the following initiatives were implemented :

  • a weekly pet therapy program providing patients with an opportunity to experience a positive emotional connection while in treatment.

  • A music therapy program whereby musicians come to the Douglas Hospital to perform and help create a social occasion for patient interactions.

  • Materials were purchased for the resident art therapy

Transitional/lease financing for a children’s orphanage in Nepal.

An orphanage founded by a local man who lost family members in the devastating earthquake that shook Nepal in 2014 was facing expropriation due to the landowner’s unwillingness to renew their lease.

The orphanage was home to over 50 kids who were permanently displaced from their homes due to the earthquake. The orphanage provides them with meals, schooling and leisure programs on a full time basis.

Our financial contribution was used to help negotiate a one year extension to the lease during which time other NGOs will look to purchase and build on land for the sole purpose of the orphanage.

Hard Cover Photography Book

Stolen Moments is a tribute to the human spirit – a collection of visual fragments highlighting the inherent beauty and diversity of Life Itself.

Yourself. Myself. Ourselves.

My goal… to document everyday triumphs and tribulations to remind us that being alive is a gift, a gift to be celebrated.

Sharing my visual journey is an invitation to momentarily observe and revel in Life through my photographic lens. A fleeting moment captured, immortalized, inviting you to pause, reflect and appreciate the magical moments in your own Life

Proceeds will be forwarded to Beni Nepal, an NGO/charitable organization providing vital support to people & communities in need.
